The Flower Pot

I love to take photographs of flowers and I have a photographic library full of them. As much as I love flowers, especially wildflowers, I am notoriously bad at growing them. I plan to post shots of cultivars and wildflowers in a wide range of colors and from a wide range of places.

Rothschild Pound House Bed and Breakfast

*****
Entrance to the side yard of the Rothschild Pound House Bed and Breakfast. The B&B is not just one house  with rooms for rent, it is made up of multiple cottages and a restaurant. Mel Gibson and the other actors of the movie, "We Were Soldiers Once", stayed in these cottages during the filming. As the story goes, they were all originally staying at the Historic Columbus Hilton, but Madeline Stowe, while riding a bike around the neighborhood saw the cottages and moved into one of them. The rest of the actors followed suit.

A Non-Flower Photo

*****
Okay, so there are not any flowers in this shot, but we do have foliage and a picture of a bird : )
As I have been neglecting this blog for that month or so I figured I better get moving.
We will be heading to this location in April for my son's wedding.

Unknown - Macro Flowers Saturday

*****
Unknown
Taken: May 2005
On the Big Island of Hawaii at the nut farm.
I found a website with Hawaiian flora, but they did not have a shot of this.
I do like the texture of the orbs and the colors.
Any ideas?

Post post comment: Thanks to Kebeni. Her comment led me to Lychee on Google and I found my answer. Ripe fruit would be a rosy-peachy red. Want to read more?

A shot from the garden/park area of the campus where I work.
Spanish moss drips from trees all over the south and I love the look of it. Others don't.
